Kimono: A Love For Tradition

The majority of Chiyomi kimono scarves come from Hawaiian families that migrated from Japan in the late 1800s and early 1900s.

These vintage kimonos are primarily from the 1930s, 1940s, and 1950s and reworked into contemporary designs.

By redesigning these Kimonos, Joy is able to preserve the history and tradition of her family and heritage that she so deeply loves.

Every Chiyomi kimono scarf is hand crafted from vintage kimonos that are authentic and pre-loved.

Only the best portions of these full kimonos are used for rework and therefore some scarves may show natural signs of fading, fabric wear, or light discoloration.
